Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday everyone! We're all set to have an absolutely gorgeous day here in Montana tommorrow.I'm afraid for us though, it will be "cleaning out the garage" day lol.

I was playing with some applique the other day and wondered if anyone else ever uses the "Applique Pressing Sheet"? This description is from the manufacturer :
"This is the One and Only, The Appliqué Pressing Sheet. This double-sided sheet is made from a ultra high temperature fabric and is coated with non-stick Polylon. This large 13" x 17" release all sheet is guaranteed for 5 years. Instructions for its multi-uses and a free appliqué pattern are included."

You put your cut out fusible applique pieces on it,(with the pattern underneath the sheet-its see through) then when everything is where you want it to be, you iron it. Then you can peel it off of this sheet and position it onto your background. I absolutely love it!!!No more fumbling around with tiny applique pieces, guessing if they are in the correct spot. I would highly recommend this handy notion for anyone trying fusible applique.I'll be carrying this product in my shop towards the end of the month..

If you are working on my Mystery Quilt, there is a correction in the yardage required. Your fabric #6 needs to be 1/4 yard instead of 1/8th. I'm going to be working on my block this weekend and I think I'm going to make 2 instead of one. I've always loved bright colors and I think this pattern is going to be dynamite in the bright tones as well.
I pray that you all have a wonderful weekend !
Happy Quilting.

Rainy Day in Montana

Hang with Us Wallhangings.

Good evening!
Well we had a dreary, rainy day here in northwestern Montana. No snow thank goodness lol. We're supposed to have temperatures in the 80's this coming weekend so I'm thinking that flooding is going to be in our future in certain areas. We still have a tremendous amount of snow in the mountains, so the rain and warm temperatures will make that come down really quickly.
I belong to a wonderful online quilting group called 3 Sisters Cyber Quilting. We have alot of fun doing swaps, games and just visiting. One swap that I am a hostess for is called the "Hang with Us " swap. We make a little wallhanging out of a 12" block for a different partner every 2 months. Each round has its own theme. The last round's theme was "Spring". I just finished a paper pieced picture block for my partner and used 3 different flower blocks. I have some cool stripes at my shop in the Meadowbrook farm line from P&B textiles and used one for the borders and hanging tabs. I've always shyed away from stripes, but I have to tell you, especially in a border they look great!! I'm also using them in the Mystery quilt I'm working on. I think that in the future, I'll be a little more adventurous with stripes. They add a really cool "punch" to a quilt block. You should try them sometime!
Until next time,
Happy Quilting!

Is it Spring Yet?

Is spring here yet? We had a lovely spring snowfall this morning here in northwestern Montana. It didn't last long though and the day ended on a beautiful sunny note.(Yeahhh!)

I got the cutest kids fabric in this evening. Its from Elizabeth Studio and has adorable little stuffed animals all over it. I'm thinking that I'm going to use some of it for a small version of the BQ quilt. Don't you just love that pattern? It is sooo easy and goes together lickety-split!

I posted my first ever Mystery Quilt pattern on my website last night as well. It's a great scrappy quilt pattern. It is going to run for 8 weeks, with a new clue posted every Friday night. I did a special offer for my newsletter subscribers who make the quilt using at least one of the fabrics from my shop,so if you'd like to be a part of that please feel free to sign up.
If you have any comments, suggestions, hints, cool quilting/crafting websites that you'd like to share, please feel free to post them here.
Do you have anything special planned for Mother's Day?? My sweet daughter made an adorable "worm/caterpillar" out of panty hose, potting soil and grass seed for me.They also put on a luncheon for all of the Mom's and each child recited a poem that they had memorized for the occasion. It was a very special afternoon.
Well, I guess that's all for tonight. Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Tina
